Faces of MS: Author Stephen White

021int_whiteBestselling author Stephen White has quite a resume under his belt. The author of over 15 books has frequently detailed the battle of living with MS through one of his main characters. Noted on his site, the author describes:

“I would estimate that about half my mail involves readers’ reaction to Lauren having Multiple Sclerosis. The overwhelming sentiment I hear is one of gratitude, either for the fact of the portrayal of the illness, the reality of the portrayal of its effect on Lauren’s life, or for the nature of the portrayal — that I present her as a vibrant, interesting, sexual being despite her illness. People who have MS and people who work with MS patients have been especially supportive.”

White’s understanding is due to a more personal confession: Stephen White was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis over twenty-two years ago. Although he finds some slight restrictions, his strength and positive attitude is a great example for all of us.
